Sopwell House is on 12 acres of land, tucked away down a beautiful little lane in St.Albans. A stunning country house hotel which caters to the mass, whether it’s a romantic weekend away, special birthday dinner, a light lunch in the conservatory or a day in their spa, there is something for everyone.

I’ve been here numerous times and every occasion I’ve embraced the different services on offer. This week I went for afternoon tea, I’m a complete sucker for a three tiered stand full of sugary-ness!

The service was excellent from the word go, we had our coats taken and served immediately. During our stay we were asked several times if we were happy and had our rather large teapot replaced 3 times!

We spent 2 hours devouring a selection of 4 different finger sandwiches, 2 types of scones and a selection of sweet treats!

I kept my outfit simple, black jeans, heeled boots and a blouse to hide the post-tea bloat!
