The past two weeks have been killer in the workout department! I had some grand plan to train really hard for three weeks before taking 4 weeks off from exercise (for personal reasons).
However, I hit a massive de-motivated wall. I’m just not getting the buzz I usually do, I feel like it’s a chore and I’m not benefiting from it.
During the summer months I do all my strength training outside, as the temperature dips I move into a garage which has my equipment in. The recent drop in temperature has made going into the garage even more off putting…

I decided I needed to mix things up a bit, step away from ‘My Plan’. I live near an open-air gym so decided to incorporate a 5km run with a workout stop at the gym. It was actually so much fun and something I’d like to start doing weekly, mixing in cardio with strength, it’s also nice to get some fresh air! Today I tackled the snow and freezing temperatures, call me mad but I loved it!
Taking 4 weeks off exercise is probably going to mean my muscles are going to disappear (goodbye abs) but the start of March will see me setting myself new goals and challenges… watch this space!
I’d love to know what other people do to keep motivated when they’ve hit the wall!
